The Milwaukee Brewers are now winners of ten of their last eleven games. As has become the norm, pitching was the name of the game as the Brewers held the vaunted Cincinnati Reds offense to just one run. Tonight, however, it wasn Woodruff, or Burnes, or Peralta that took the hill to start the game. Adrian Houser took the ball for the Brewers. You might remember that his last outing against the Reds was not the best of outings. This time around was another story. By the end of his night, Houser held the Reds to just that one run while scattering five hits over 5. 1 innings and earning the win. Brewers relievers gave up nothing. Brent Suter, Brad Boxberger, Devin Williams, and Hoby Milner all pitched. All kept the opposing hitters off balance in their own unique way. The result was a bullpen that covered 3. 2 innings without surrendering a run https://www.milwaukeefanstoreonline.com/Chris_Capuano_Flag-163. For the Reds, their starter, Sonny Gray, was pitching really well too. Unfortunately for Cincinnati, he left the game after just three innings pitched. Something seemed to catch in his leg during warm ups prior to the fourth inning. Cincinnati training and coaching staff came to the mound to check on their pitcher, and the decision was made to remove him from the game. At that point the Reds were up 1-0. Cincinnati scored the run off of a Shogo Akiyama single that scored Tucker Barnhart from third. Kyle Farmer was unable to score from second on the play, because Jackie Bradley Jr. got to the ball so quickly. Farmer was later picked off third by Omar Narvaez when he ventured too far down the line when Sonny Gray tried to bunt but missed. The Brewers offense provided some nice support tonight Glenn Robinson Hoodie, by putting up five runs on the scoreboard. The first run came in the top of the fourth when Avi Garcia crushed a solo shot over the left field wall. The Brewers took a lead they would not relinquish in the top of the fifth. Luis Urias led the inning off with a walk. He advanced to second and third on two wild pitches by Reds reliever, Ryan Hendrix. Daniel Vogelbach would work a walk to make it first and third with Christian Yelich coming to the plate. Yelich did knock the run in, but he hit into a double play. Nonetheless, the Brewers were up 2-1. Milwaukee would add a run in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Avi Garcia bounced a ball up the middle that Jonathan India was able to get a glove on, but could not field cleanly. Milwaukee would add two more in the top of the ninth for good measure. Pinch hitter Tyrone Taylor induced a walk. He advanced to second on a ground out by Christian Yelich. With two outs in the inning, Reds manager David Bell decided to intentionally walk hot hitting Omar Narvaez in order to face a very cold hitting Travis Shaw. The decision did not work out for the Reds and David Bell as Shaw drove a double to the right centerfield wall. Both Taylor and Narvaez would score to make it 5-1 Mark Mathias Face Mask, which is how it would end. The Brewers are now 34-26 and sit alone in first place in the N. L. Central. Milwaukee will attempt to remain hot tomorrow as take on these same Reds. Game time is scheduled for 6:10 CT. Brett Anderson will get the ball for the Brew Crew, while Vladimir Gutierrez toes the rubber for Cincinnati. The game can be seen on Bally Sports Wisconsin. It can also be heard on WTMJ 620 and the Brewers Radio Network.
